Writing Workshop

22nd November 2022

We had a classic masterpiece writing workshop, based on a spinoff of “Love in the Time of Cholera”.
Nothing but exceptional writing from all of you guys!
However, the winner for the contest is… (Maybe someone from class).
Your story was truly a tragic, but a beautiful love story.

Come and claim your prize at our next club activity. Felicitación!

An epic of love spanning more than half a century, it exhausts all the possibilities of love: faithful, secretive, rough, shy, platonic, debauched, fleeting, life-and-death ...... recreates the relentless passage of time and has been hailed as "the greatest love novel ever written by mankind". The timeline of the novel spanning fifty years not only creates an encyclopaedia of love, but also a vivid portrait of the Latin American continent in the 20th century

Comparative Reading Forum

25th November 2022

Hope you all enjoyed our comparative reading lesson today and found it useful.
Thank you Professor Tate for being our guest speaker today.

Let us know if you’re interested in any topics, and we’ll do our best to host these talks again.

Comparative reading refers to putting two or more articles with similar or opposite content or form together and reading them in contrast. In the process of reading, the relevant contents are constantly compared, contrasted and identified to activate thinking, deepen and profound understanding.

Comparative reading is helpful to see the differences, grasp the characteristics, and eventually improve reader’s appreciation.

Sometimes we just don't have enough time for everything, but don't panic! In this section you can have a look at our past events:

What To Expect from Book Club Events

Where do I find book club?

What happens at book club?

How do I know when the next book club event will be?

Our book club events take place in Room40 Trinity

Book club events are a great opportunity to meet new people and get together in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Book club members are encouraged to bring along a question about the book that they think would be interesting for bookclub to discuss. Don’t worry, this could be anything and we love to hear your ideas for questions.

Book club events happen on the first Tuesday of every month, the full calendar of events to see the upcoming books for the next two book clubs.

Can I vote for a book?

Yes, we would love to hear your ideas for future book club events. At the end of every book club event we make suggestions for future book clubs and do a vote. We choose books that you love so keep the suggestions rolling in.
